The Let’s Explore the Stone Age (in Britain) learning journal has been designed to suit a range of ages and learning styles. Rather than simply looking at “The Stone Age”, you’ll explore each of the three periods in a fun and hand-on way.
These family projects are incredibly flexible and is great for home educators who have more than one child at home because you can all use the same project together but adapt the activities for each child (in fact the child adapts their own activities).
They are also perfect for children who might feel intimated by a page of lines that they are supposed to fill.
Just some of the things you’ll have a chance to explore:
– our early ancestors
– Palaeolithic tools
– Surviving an ice Age
– Prehistoric animals
– Stone Age clothing
– Paviland Cave
– A Mesolithic home
– Palaeolithic art
– Clay pots
– Neolithic homes
– Stone Henge
– A prehistoric feast
I try to keep a balance between easy black and white printing and colourful inspiring pages. We put ours in a clear ring binder so that we can add our extra pages of collages, pictures, etc. easily.
– Some of the activities included may require adult support because they require the use of knives, cooking equipment, outdoor exploration etc. Please ense correct level of supervision.
– Some activities require research so you may need to support/ observe your child on the Internet. Some QR codes are provided as examples but do check the videos are suitable for your child beforehand.
– This pdf purchase is for personal use so please do not share your download link. Please contact me if you’d like to use my resources in group settings.
